Last year, I finally met up with a friend I hadn’t been in contact with for over 12 years. They got in touch with me, and it was a very good surprise. We met up and caught up for a while. We ended up staying more in touch and catching up once in a while. The obvious question was why we hadn’t caught up in so long. We didn’t have an answer.
One day we were walking by a bar restaurant, and there was a big folding chalkboard sign sitting on the sidewalk right at the main door. In giant colorful lettering it read, ” FREE BEER !!” And then, in the smaller letters below that, it read, “mañana”. Free beer is always tomorrow.
Whatever you think is special in your life, it’s just a hopeful idea until it happens today. Don’t wait on the things you want to become a reality in your life. Free beer will never come. Tomorrow might not either. Whatever is weighing most on your mind and heart to bring into reality, don’t wait until tomorrow to start.
Make it today.
But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” But he said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Another said, “I will follow you Lord; but first let me say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Lk 9:59-62)
